Why did I choose to live at Black Mountain?

​

After living in Thailand for 7 years I decided to research whether I could fulfil a lifelong dream to live on a golf course.

​

I visited Hua Hin on 3 separate occasions and inspected each of the surrounding golf courses and over 20 properties.

​

My top 4 choices were Palm Hills, Springfield Golf Resort, Banyan Golf Resort and Black Mountain Golf Club.

​

Black Mountain was a clear choice for the following reasons:

​

• It was the most affordable choice with no other option that allowed me to live on the golf course with equivalent standard of construction and views of the course.  This is still true today.

 

• Black Mountain is European managed with European attention to detail in maintaining and operating the whole infrastructure. Other non-European options in Hua Hin suffer lack of maintenance and widespread dissatisfaction by owners with the management of their resorts. Black Mountain Condominium have a maintenance committee with owner representatives who in conjunction with Black Mountain management oversee the use of funds levied on owners for maintenance.

• Black Mountain Golf Course is maintained to a higher standard than other courses on Hua Hin. It has more staff in golf and property maintenance than any other course. It has a higher level of green keeping equipment and supplies a greater quantity of water as part of its ongoing maintenance program then any of its competitors.

Why do I love living at Black Mountain?

Black Mountain is now a multinational community. Members regularly attend parties and get together at each other’s properties.

​

It really is a great place to live.

​

Members play on a world class level golf course for no cost other than caddie fees.

​

The practice facilities for golf are first class and this is confirmed by the European and Asian tour professionals who also have properties at Black mountain.

​

I am lucky enough to have got to know the owners and management Black Mountain and am happy to say that we have become good friends.

​

The owner Stig Notlov has created his dream and continues to improve the whole offering. Black Mountain is a profitable golf club but Stig chooses to reinvest in improvements in all parts of the resort.

​

From a members perspective we are lucky to have an owner with Stig's passion and commitment to Black Mountain.

​

Members are also treated with extreme generosity with access to impromptu member’s tournaments and dinners, Pro-am tee times and hospitality spots at major tournaments.

​

It is very rare that members are not able to book tee times with short notice.

​

​

Condominium owners  have the ability to lock up and leave at a moment’s notice and know that their property and belongings are safe and will be well maintained.

​

Black Mountain is an extremely safe place to live and everyone looks out for each other.

​

For those with families the Black Mountain facilities also include:

Samsara is in the process of building an assisted living facility for retirees.

The Space

​

Take in the spectacular view from the massive balcony on the fourth floor overlooking  the number 1 golf course in Thailand.

Luxuriously appointed with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. There is a gourmet kitchen for the days that you don't wish to barbecue your own steak on the balcony.

Facilities

The condominium complex contains 2 swimming pools and  gymnasium with spectacular views over the golf course and surrounding mountains.

​

​

There are tennis, volleyball  and racket ball courts as well as a  mini golf  course for some fun.

​

The fully appointed  gymnasium  also has  a steam  and sauna room attached.

​

All owners have access to golf carts to take you from the condominum complex to the  golf clubhouse, practice facilities, water and wave parks.

​

There is free shuttle bus to and from downtown Hua Hin 

​

The restaurant at the clubhouse serves delicious European and Thai food.

The Golf Course

​

​

The No 1 rated Championship Course is breathtaking. Featuring water hazards on 13 holes , strategic bunkers and demanding greens. It has 4 sets of tees so the course is enjoyable for all levels of golfers from 27 handicappers to professionals.

​

There is also a new nine holes that has just finished construction. It contains some spectacular new holes that may in time result in rating this 9 holes as better than the existing 18.

​

The practice facilities are world class. Many European and Thai professionals use the Black Mountain as there practice base when they are not competing. Golf lessons are available by appointment.

​

Black Mountain is a golfers paradise.

The Neighborhood

​

The Black Mountain complex is situated 10 kilometers from the beachside town of Hua Hin.

​

Hua Hin is a favorite getaway for Bangkok residents. It is family friendly and relaxed, it does not exerience the all-night partying and seedier aspects of nearby beach resorts.

​

Once a small fishing village, it was transformed into a royal resort, and it’s these close links with Thai royalty. 

​

There are many bars and restaurants  to choose from.  In surrounding areas there are temples, waterfalls, a winery and even a fishing park.
